Organisations needing volunteers

If you are from an organisation that is hosting a one-off or regular physical activity/sport events/sessions then you might benefit from having enthusiastic volunteers helping out.

We would recommend getting in touch with some of the local/national volunteering providers listed above in order to help you recruit volunteers for your sessions.

Sport England volunteering information

We would also encourage you to visit the Sport England volunteering section of their website, where they provide insight on giving volunteers the best experience.

You may also wish to check out Buddle, which is a one stop shop for clubs, groups and organisations involved in the delivery of sport and physical activity. It provides free, practical resources to help organisations to develop, grow and become more sustainable and successful.

Employer-supported volunteering

If your company has put corporate social responsibility (CSR) at the heart of what it does, then employer-supported volunteering can be a particularly rich and rewarding part of the CSR mix.

Volunteering opportunities in the physical activity and sport sector offer some really fantastic benefits. From strengthening communities by bringing people together and reducing anti-social behaviour, to supporting projects that build young people’s character and improve mental health, it’s about so much more than improving physical health.

Many companies and organisations choose to give up to 5 days annually for employees to volunteer during working hours (subject to work commitments) to help contribute to the wider community and also help them to develop skills. Staff can be released individually or in teams to support community organisations and charities.

Please get in touch with the respective local/national volunteering centres listed above in order to find opportunities to suit your organisation and your workforce.
