Parkrun is paused around the country just now to help beat COVID-19, but before measures to stamp it out had to get tougher, special parkruns took place up and down the UK to mark International Women’s Day in conjunction with the This Girl Can campaign, which empowers women to take part in physical activity without fear of judgement.
The idea was for regular female parkrunners to bring along one new female participant each to sample the benefits of parkrun for themselves.
Merseyside joined in the fun and amongst the runs taking place in the county was one at Croxteth Hall Country Park where MSP supported to hand out limited edition This Girl Can T-shirts to lucky ladies taking part.
It was a great morning for regulars and newbies alike. questions on the day, or want to set up interviews with participants to capture the spirit of the event.
