MSP launch My Active Work Life to help local workers move more!

Recognising that full-time employees spend around 60% of their waking week at work, with 40% of women and 35% of men spending more than six hours a day desk-bound or sitting still, MSP have launched ‘My Active Work Life’; with inspiring messages, stories and resources to help local workers move more at work.

Local workers tell MSP that being more active at work can help them to boost their mood, reduce stress and feel more alert and energised throughout the day. ‘My Active Work Life’ includes a dedicated webpage (www.merseysidesport.com/myactiveworklife) where Merseyside-based employees can:

  • read about top-tips in how to be more active at work
  • download resources and practical step by step guides
  • view videos and inspiring stories from local people

We’ve also got a bi-monthly newsletter that employees can sign up to, which includes all of the above and much more delivered straight to their inbox.

‘My Active Work Life’ has been designed to complement MSP’s Active Workplaces service, which provides local organisations with a menu of products and services designed to help them get their workforce more active in order to realise business benefits such as reducing absenteeism levels and improving workplace productivity and morale.

Alongside ‘My Active Work Life’, MSP are also encouraging local workers to sign up to the inclusive ‘2020 Challenge’. The challenge encourages people to build more physical activity into their daily routine by taking part in at least 20 minutes of physical activity for 20 days in a row anytime between January and March 2020. You can find out more about the 2020 Challenge and sign up by visiting the ‘My Active Work Life’ page.
