Tutors: Dan Keefe and Jon White from Clare Mount Specialist Sports College will be supported by Ruth Jones, Trainer Consultant, Active for Autism, The National Autistic Society (NAS).

Venue: Clare Mount Specialist Sports College, Fender Lane, Moreton, Wirral, Merseyside, CH46 9PA.

Times: 9.30AM-4.00PM

The course will be a mix of theory and practical and will be certificated by NAS.

Places available: 25.

Cost: £60pp. This is heavily subsidised by our Inclusion Lead School Grant funding from the Youth Sport Trust. Please make cheques payable to Clare Mount School or email k.o’ with a payment transfer request code.

This course is open to teachers, coaches, teaching assistants and other professionals working with autistic children in schools and sports clubs across the region.

Course aim:

– Provide learners with a current understanding of autism and an opportunity to practice strategies within sport activities.


Course outcomes:

Learners to be able to…..

  • define and explain the differences experienced by people on the autism spectrum
  • understand how these differences may impact on engaging with sport-related activities
  • become familiar with the SPELL framework
  • practice strategies that can help autistic people participate in sport
