About Sue:

Sue Wilkinson is Strategic Lead with the Association for Physical Education (afPE). She has also held roles as Director of the National College for Professional Learning, afPE; Professional Development Manager for the British Association of Advisers and Lecturers in Physical Education; plus Director of Teaching and Learning and PGCE Physical Education and KS2/3 for the University of Worcester.

Her hopes for her time on the Merseyside Sports Partnership board are to support, contribute to and help with the work that relates to physical education and the wider impact on whole school improvement. She wants to be an active Board member with a positive outlook that encourages growth and success. She also want to support the staff to have the confidence to achieve the very best that they can and never be afraid to take risks and try new ventures to achieve their goals.

Sue’s active life:
“I love to watch sport particularly my sons play rugby and cricket. Following injury I am looking forward to returning to some kind of an activity, which may mean trying something new.”

Who is Sue’s sporting hero?:
“My PE teachers Mrs Firkin and Miss Lightfoot, I kid you not, who inspired me to love physical activity and to become a PE Teacher.”
