Alder Hey 10k & family fun run back for 2018!

Alder Hey Children’s Charity, one of the biggest of its kind in the UK, will be returning to at Croxteth Hall and Country Park on Sunday October 14th.

After the success of the 2017 event where over 1,000 participants took on the 10k route, it’s projected that even more will run in 2018 with £1 in every entry going direct to the charity.

Kevin Harmer, UK Events & Sponsorship Manager said; “Sports Tours International are delighted to be working again with Cath and the team at Alder Hey Children’s Charity this coming October. For the Charity to continue to have its very own 10k and Family Fun Run, it will be a key contributor in raising their profile in the sporting sector even further”.

Cath Harding, Head of Community Fundraising at Alder Hey Children’s Charity said; “Alder Hey Children’s Charity are delighted to welcome back the Alder Hey 10k & Family Fun Run this October. The event will enable the charity to raise vital funds and awareness to support the hospital’s pioneering work, to improve the quality of life for not only the young people we treat each year, but through innovations and research into childhood diseases, the quality of life for children across the world”.

On race day there will be an officially measured and chip timed 10k run as well as a Family Fun Run. Alongside the running, the Athlete Village will provide visitors with lots of activities and attractions as well as Croxteth Hall and Country Park providing a perfect venue for such an event.

Croxteth Hall and Country Park is one of Liverpool’s most important heritage sites, and is home to a real working farm, Victorian Walled Garden and 500 acre nature reserve. With such an impressive venue as the backdrop for the Alder Hey 10k, runners and spectators will be able to enjoy the whole site and make it a real family day out in support of the charity.
