Step into Sport

The main aim of Step into Sport is to encourage more young people to become involved in sport in their local community.

Step into Sport concentrates on training new volunteers, aged between 14 years and 19 years. Step into Sport builds on existing structures and programmes such as Junior Sports Leaders Award and Community Sports Leader Award to encourage and generate greater volunteer links between schools and clubs.

Step into Sport is a joint project funded by Sport England, Youth Sport Trust and Sports Leaders UK and every year, Step into Sport holds a 'Volunteering and Leadership Conference', to encourage and sustain young people's involvement in quality community volunteering placements.

This two-day conference includes a variety of workshops, practical and theory sessions, team building, coaching skills, equity awareness and safety.
