  2. Enhance the quality and quantity of coaching measurable at all levels of the player pathway
  3. Increase the number of qualified coaches working at all levels of the player pathway
  4. Improve performances in sport
  5. Put in place a cohesive and World Leading coaching system
  6. Establish coaching as a profession, recognising volunteer, part time and full time roles
  7. Transform the way in which coaching is perceived valued and delivered in the UK

Coaching North West - National Coaching Agency

Coaching North West is a national coaching agency managed by Cross Rocks CIC and supported by Sport England, sports coach UK, DCMS, Greater Sport and Merseyside Sports Partnership.

Following extensive development, and testing, the Coaching North West website went live on the 1st July enabling coaches to register their interest in coaching placement opportunities.  The website is designed so that a coach who registers on the site is able to build a profile of their skills, experience, availability and specify the type of placement opportunities for which they are best suited.

Placement providers such as clubs, schools, leisure centres or sport development teams are able to identify their coaching requirements, through the website, and access those registered coaches who not only meet their needs but have been quality assured.

In addition to providing a link between coaches and organisations that have a requirement for the services of suitably qualified coaches, the agency aims to:

  • Encourage those that previously didn’t think they could have a career in coaching to pursue coaching as a vocation
  • To set an industry standard for all coaches to aspire to in terms of the level of qualification required to practice and their level of expertise
  • To increase the number and availability of qualified coaches at all levels
  • To establish coaching as a profession, recognising volunteer, part time and full time role
  • To improve performance and the enjoyment of sport

For those coaches who do not currently meet the minimum standards required for a placement, or are not looking for paid coaching, Coaching North West will provide information and advice on training and development opportunities or arrange voluntary placements to gain experience.
