MerseyCycle are pleased to announce that it has secured funding from Mersey Recycling and Waste Authority to run another series of Bicycle Recycling courses. They will be running 4 courses over the coming months, two during week days and two during weekends. Our first course of 4 five hour sessions commences at 9.15 am on Friday 14th July at our base at Court Hey Park, L16.
During the course, you will be given instruction on stripping a bicycle and rebuilding it using new or recycled parts. Working in pairs you are likely to rebuild two bicycles during the course and we aim to show you as many different parts and components during this period. If you are interested please get in touch with MerseyCycle. Places are limited by application and they are looking for people who can attend every session of the course. They allow 8 people per course. Tools and protective equipment are provided during these sessions. Obviously, some mechanical ability would be preferred.
They will also be running a series of bite size courses that focus on puncture repair and tyre and wheel anatomy and also M-checking your bike, the components and what they are and the correct use of your gears. Dates and times for those courses will be announced shortly.
