Sponsors Merseyside Primary Games

This is the sixth year Capita - the UK’s largest support services company - has sponsored the Primary Games and the second year they have been Title Sponsor of the event. The Primary Games is just one of a number of activities the company provides funding for each year.

Capita is the sole sponsor of the Disability Sport Coach Education programme, which trains over 200 Merseyside residents each year to coach disabled people to play sports and makes places for disabled people on those courses affordable. Capita also sponsors the Future Sporting Champions Dinner, which encourages young people to achieve their sporting dreams.

Capita Business Director, Shaun King, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be able to support Merseyside Sports Partnership in developing programmes that give young people wider access to sport and physical activity. Although we’re based in Liverpool, we are particularly pleased to sponsor this event, which offers opportunities to youngsters from across all of our local communities in Merseyside.

“The Primary Games offers a wonderful chance for thousands of young people to have fun and enjoy themselves. We’ve seen the event grow in stature each year, and we’re delighted to have done what we can over the last three years to help. We’d also like to offer our sincere thanks to all of our sponsored volunteers, without whom today’s event couldn’t happen, and send our best wishes to all those competing in the games. Good luck to you all!”

Local Safeguarding Children Boards are high-level strategic partnerships that focus specifically on protecting children and making sure their welfare is promoted.

Central to the Local Safeguarding Children Boards’ work is helping families and communities to keep children and young people healthy as well as safe. This includes giving all children and young people the opportunity to participate in sports in a safe and fulfilling environment which is vital if they are to be able to give their best.

Local Safeguarding Children Boards will continue to work in partnership with all sporting bodies and organisations in their areas to ensure that sporting activities are accessible and safe. For more information please access the LSCB Websites.
