The Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS)

"I know how difficult it is to develop in your sport to the highest levels whilst undertaking academic studies or a career. This exciting new scheme provides our most promising future Olympians with top quality sporting services and access to good quality training facilities."

Sir Steve Redgrave CBE, Olympic Champion

The Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) is a Government funded programme that represents a unique partnership between sport and higher and further education.

The programme awards Scholarships and Bursaries to talented athletes that are committed to combining their sport and education. It aims to reduce the drop out of talented athletes from sport and supports and develops the talent of today for sporting success in the future. Scholarships are available to 16 to 25 year old sportspeople.

TASS 2012

The 2012 Scholarships will be targeted at 12 to 18 year olds, however, as each sport has a different optimal age range, a sport can ask for variation within the age 10-20.

The scholarship awards each athlete with £10,000 per annum to help with access to world class facilities, coaching and support services.
