Clubs: Clubmark

Merseyside Sports Partnership encourages clubs to work towards and achieve Clubmark accreditation to:

• support our club infrastructure
• enable members to improve their performance to the best of their ability, at whatever level
• to protect children and coaches
• project a professional image
• maximise funding opportunities
• raise public awareness locally
• develop a club structure and secure clubs’ futures

Clubmark accreditation is a kite mark of quality that has jointly been developed in partnership between Sport England and National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGB's) to ensure that all clubs are working towards being Safe, Effective and Child Friendly.

National Governing Bodies, Local Authorities and Merseyside Sports Partnership all offer accreditation and all these schemes, recognised by Sport England, are classed as Clubmark accreditation.

Accreditation involves working through new policies such as Child Protection and Equity. School to club links will as a result become stronger, ensuring your club is promoted to parents and children in your local area and membership to your club is increased as a result.

You’ll be given help and advice to develop professionally qualified coaching staff, improving the quality of coaching. Volunteers too are encouraged to train for coaching certification which raises the standard of your club.

You will also have access to funding and to volunteers, through effective communication with MSP. In addition, the production of a Development Plan (required to achieve accreditation) will make you ready to bid for funding opportunities in the future.
