About Us: Strategy

In August 2005 Merseyside Sports Partnership carried out a thorough consultation process involving the Board and all Partnership members. The aim was to review the existing ‘Teamworks’ strategy and to develop a revised strategy – to reflect any current changes within the sporting landscape and to ensure the outcomes of the strategy add value to locally determined needs and priorities of the Merseyside Sports Partnership.

The new strategy was launched on the 29th January 2006 at Halewood Leisure Centre to over 150 guests from across the Partnership. Key speakers included Olympic High Jump medallist Steve Smith:

"It is great to be standing here within Merseyside, putting something back into sport. Throughout my career, I have always had an excellent team behind me, all of whom worked together in order to achieve success. The fact that so many people are here today shows the commitment undertaken by partners from such a varied spectrum, with a common goal."

Now in its fourth year, Merseyside Sports Partnership will be reviewing the impact of its strategy 2006-2010 with a view to refreshing the contents to build on the partnership’s vision in the next 5 years.

This review and consultation will involve the whole partnership and a timeline is attached which outlines our plans. Our current strategy is also available below.
